[Hiroshi watches quietly as Aiko waters the flowers, trying to summon the courage to speak.]
Hiroshi: (Quietly, almost to himself) They’re blooming beautifully… the flowers.
Aiko: (Smiling gently) Thank you, Hiroshi-san. It’s the season, isn’t it? The flowers are just doing what they know best.
Hiroshi: (Pausing, then softly) You make everything around you seem so… peaceful, Aiko-san.
Aiko: (Laughing lightly) Oh, you’re too kind. I just try my best.
Hiroshi: (Taking a step closer, hesitating) Aiko-san… there’s something I’ve wanted to say. (pauses, his voice lowering) Being near you… it reminds me of what I once thought love would feel like.
Aiko: (Surprised, a hint of confusion) Hiroshi-san… I… I don’t know what to say.
[The soft crunch of gravel is heard as Kenta approaches, cheerful and unsuspecting.]
Kenta: (Calling out) Hiroshi! There you are. I was hoping you’d join us for tea tonight.
Hiroshi: (Pulling back, masking his emotions) Of course, Kenta-san. I’d be honored.
[Hiroshi casts one last lingering look at Aiko, who meets his gaze, unsure of what she felt in that moment.]
